Seiler Appliance first opened it doors in December of 1976. When Dick & Lynn Seiler first opened, they started with selling General Electric Appliances and offered appliance service as well as expert sales and installation. They were located in their first location at 21 3rd Ave NE in Pocahontas.
They had moved here fresh out of College from Iowa Central Community College ,retail marketing class. Dick also had been working with his father John Seiler in the Appliance Business starting when he was a young teenager.
Lynn has been the Office Manager working along side Dick all these years.
Ron started in 1978 as a part time employee while working thru high school and started full time in June of 1982 after finishing his college training from Iowa Central Community College from the Retail Marketing Class. He has become a highly skilled technician earning several service excellence awards from General Electric Ranking him in the top 10% in the country.
Next came the opportunity to sell and service Maytag Appliances in 1979. In 1981 our 2nd move to a bigger location at 305 N Main (in the Pocahontas County ISU Extension BLDG). The year of 1984 brought yet another opportunity to sell & service Amana Appliances.
In 1986 we began Plumbing & Heating & Cooling. The business has grown with the addition of Trane & Lennox heating,cooling and Indoor Air Quality Equipment, Kohler and Delta Faucets and Fixtures.
In (1984) we moved to our new location at 317 N Main (the former Dolan's Furniture Store).
Tony Seiler started in 1993 working part time while still in High School, then in 1997 he started full time after graduating from High School. He completed Maytag Factory service training in 1998. Lennox Heating & Air Conditioning service in 1999. Lennox Duct work design in 2004. NATE (North American Technician Excellence) in 2005. Tony started doing plumbing work in 2003 and became the lead master plumber in 2007.
Tammy Laird started working full time in 2002 as a clerical clerk and has become a valuable asset helping wherever help is needed. She is in charge of the Registered Kohler Showroom which we took on in 2007 and it is going strong. She sells all bathroom and kitchen sinks, tubs, faucets, etc. She does a great job on keeping up with all the new changes and she also helps wherever needed. She is the jack of all trades.
Nick Loots started with us on 2007 full time. He is a dedicated employee. He is an excellent sheet metal fabricator. Also is in charge of installing force air heating , and cooling.
Jacob Point came to work for us in 2009. He has become a valuable asset to us in the business. He is now our appliance delivery tech and can do many other jobs to help out in the business including cleaning drains, replacing water heaters, and installing heaters.
Chris Kennedy started working for us while going to trade school in Minnesota. He did his apprentice while working for us. He started working for us full time on 2010. He is a very dedicated employee. He loves to do technical work and has become a very skilled HVAC service technician.
Joe Wasmundt came along to work for us 2010. He has his journeyman's license in plumbing. He has worked in the field over 20 years. His love for the plumbing field shows in his workmanship and for his quality of work.
Emily Seiler started in 2012 as a secretary and sells appliances, and helps Lynn with whatever is needed. She is a great asset to our business.
Dustin Thompson came to work for us in 2014 helping Nick Loots with the installation of our heating and cooling units. He also helps out with deliveries of appliances and water heaters when needed. He is a great all around asset to our business.
Dave Orwig started in 2015, and is a great helper in the appliance portion of our business. He is Ron’s right hand man with repairing appliances and Jacob’s right hand man with installing them.
Christian Reynolds joined the plumbing team in late 2016. He has his journeyman license and is a great addition to the plumbing team.
Through the years we have grown our appliance business with the addition of Bosch, LG, Whirlpool, Maytag, Samsung, Speed Queen and Kitchen Aid.
Our plumbing and HVAC business keeps growing every year.
